A Milestone Worth Celebrating
Some milestones are measured in years.
Others are measured in the people who choose to celebrate them with you.
Five years after my Stage IV diagnosis, my daughter, Liv, gave me a gift I never saw coming. She quietly reached out to friends, family, coworkers, and people from every season of my life with a simple idea: to celebrate this milestone by helping me purchase something I've always wanted since moving to Florida—a golf cart.
What happened next left me speechless.
As I looked through the list of names, I was reminded of just how many people have been part of my journey. Some have walked beside me since childhood. Others entered my life through work, basketball, my cancer journey, or after reading NORMAL. Different paths. Different chapters. One incredible act of kindness.
This page isn't really about a golf cart.
It's about what can happen when one person decides to celebrate a milestone and hundreds of others choose to join them.
If you were one of those people, I hope you know what your generosity truly gave me. You didn't just help purchase a golf cart—you reminded me that, even after everything life has thrown my way, I have never walked this road alone.
If you weren't part of the original surprise and are wondering why you're just now hearing about it, you're not alone. Several people have reached out to say they missed Liv's invitation and wished they had the opportunity to participate.
If you'd still like to be part of this celebration, I've included the original Venmo information below. Please don't feel any obligation whatsoever. This page exists first and foremost to say THANK YOU!
Because your kindness is a gift I'll carry with me long after the first ride.
